Mission: The Hunters
Location: Bridge
Timeline: Current

Ensign Perim sat at the main science station on the Zealous' bridge, working diligently on refining the sensor data in an attempt to glean some more useful information on the pirate vessels. Lieutenant Sison had been correct in his initial assessment: the ships were about the same volume and mass as a B'rel class Bird of Prey. All similarities ended there. None of the power signatures or energy emissions matched anything the Starfleet data base. Even when she accounted for the possibility of mismatched systems, say Cardassian weapons, Klingon power systems, and Bajoran engines, she still did not come up with anything remotely close to what the sensors where recording. She could only draw one conclusion from the available data.

"Captain," the young Trill spoke up, "I have finished my analysis of the sensor data."

The dark haired Betazoid turned to the Ensign after hearing the announcement of the analysis being completed. Inwardly, she hoped that there would be some clues that could tell them who was ultimately behind this. Once they could figure that out, it might help with being able to not only coming up with a plan to deal with the pirates, but also making sure that they could free all of the hostages without any loss of life.

Standing from her seat, she made her way over to the Ensign's side so she could look at what was on the console. "What do you have, Ensign?" she wondered, hoping for some good news for a change.

Brianna straightened slightly as the Captain stepped up behind her. She tapped a few commands into her console and brought up a graph of the sensor data on the monitor. "I analyzed the energy emissions and power signatures of the attacking vessels and compared the results to the profiles of known vessel classes, as well as possible variations. There were no matches in any of the databases." She let that sink in for a moment. "We appear to be dealing with a new class of vessel. One that is small and agile, and possess formidable weapons for its size. I advise caution, Captain."
