Pre-Wedding Jitters

Posted on Thu Mar 31st, 2011 @ 4:16pm by Lieutenant Commander Jarrold Scott & Commander Ti'ana Sullivan-Scott

Mission: The Hunters
Location: Earth Spacedock

Jarrold sat looking out of the window of his quarters in space dock. At this time tomorrow he would be walking down the isle, marrying his best friend and probably the only woman in the universe that would put up with him and not run away screaming. He'd been a mess over the last few months. First he'd been asked to provide his evaluation of the USS Liberty... a ship that he was certain that they would be assigned to permanently before having Starfleet yank the wool out from under him. "Sorry Lieutenant Commander, you were just taking it for a test drive. Someone else it going to own these engines." The Admiral had said to him.

After finishing up with the Liberty he was moved around for a couple of months before Starfleet finally told him that he was being assigned to finish the construction on a new Prometheus Class Starship. Most of the work had already been done on her already... he was only assigned because he would be the Chief Engineer.

The biggest part of the last few months for him had been wedding preparations. He would be marrying Ti'ana in the morning and he been with her every step of the way in the preparations. Now that the big day was here he couldn't be more happy... or more nervous.

Ti'ana couldn't sleep. She was too riled up. She was staring at her dress, laid out for tomorrow. She sighed, and got up, walking down to Jarrold's quarters, and rang the chime.

Jarrold sensed Ti'ana's presence at the door... he always sensed her presence and it always made him feel good. It was one of the reasons that he was marrying her tomorrow. He moved around away from the window and the view of Earth below, heading over to the door and opening it. As soon as he saw her he pulled her in... kissing her as the door slid closed.

"Mmm...hi to you too." she said, pulling away and hugging him. "Can't sleep."

"I know how you feel." he said. "Tomorrow is going to be a big day and I'm sure that I forgot something." He always thought that he forgot something. It usually turned out to be nothing at all but with as big as tomorrow was he wasn't going to take any chances.

"Everything is in order." she said. "Stop worrying. You're worse than me!"

"Yeah I'm sure you're right. Whatever it is will pass." Jarrold said. "How are you holding up?"

"I'm good. Excited. We're finally doing what we should have done a while ago."

He let out a chuckle. "It seems like the universe was conspiring to not let this happen." he said. "But it doesn't matter now. In 24 hours we'll be on our way to Risa and away from the universe for 2 whole weeks."

She sighed happily. "Oh I can't wait to relax. Just the two of us. No starship, no ranks, no commbadges..."

"and most importantly... no galaxy ending crisis. You know we could have always just snuck away and done this a long time ago. I think our families would have gotten over it by now."

She laughed. "We'd probably both have been court-martialed for missing some catastrophe."

"Yeah and worse part would have been the separate cells."

She laughed again. "Can I stay here tonight?" she asked. "I'll never get to sleep on my own. Too much quiet for thinking."

"I don't see why not. After tomorrow we're going to be spending a lot of time sharing the same room." he laughed. "Let me go take a shower and I'll join you."

She smiled, and sat down on the couch. "Ok, deal."
